What shed and workshop floors in Bendigo actually involves

For work worth more than A$10,000 Consumer Affairs Victoria says a practitioner must be registered, except where the job involves only one of a listed set of trades that includes painting and installing floor coverings. A written major domestic building contract is required above the same value, with the same exceptions. A workshop floor that also needs a new slab edge or drainage is more than one trade.

If the floor will be ground

WorkSafe Victoria's dust-control guidance applies as it does on the grinding page: on-tool water suppression or on-tool dust extraction, and slurry that is managed so it does not dry out.

Before the floor is touched

A shed or workshop can have an older slab with tiles, vinyl or adhesive over it. Asbestos Victoria says a material installed before 1990 is safest assumed to contain asbestos, so test before it is ground. The main page covers the classes and the costs page every value line.

A shed floor in a flood-affected area may have had water on it. The council's 2023/24 annual report counts garages and sheds among the buildings flooded in January 2024, and the suburb pages list the places.
