How much does epoxy flooring cost in Bendigo?
We do not answer that with a price, because no government source sets one. What the regulators do set out is what a quote should say: Consumer Affairs Victoria says it should be clear about what it covers and give a careful estimate of how long the work will take, and say whether it includes transport, materials, labour and call-out or weekend rates. A tradesperson also guarantees, whether the agreement was verbal or written, to provide services with due care and skill, fit for any specified purpose and within a reasonable time when no time is set, and the ACCC's consumer guarantees guide (July 2021) says the same of any service. If you want a particular use for the floor, say so when you ask for the quote, because “fit for any specified purpose” depends on what was specified. The costs page's Epoxy floor costs and rules check lists the Victorian rules that can apply to a floor job, each with its source.
Who is allowed to coat my floor?
It depends on the kind of job. The Building and Plumbing Commission has registration classes for painting and decorating and for floor finishing and covering, and Consumer Affairs Victoria lists single-trade work, including painting and floor coverings, that needs no registration above A$10,000. The pages do not say where a resin coating sits, so ask which class the contractor works under and check their name on the Commission's register.

Process
Is grinding my garage floor dangerous, and where does the wash-water go?
Grinding can be: concrete contains crystalline silica and grinding makes silica dust, and WorkSafe Victoria says effective dust controls, such as on-tool water suppression or dust extraction, need to be used. If water is used, the slurry has to be managed so it does not dry out. EPA Victoria says wastewater must be kept out of stormwater drains so far as reasonably practicable, so ask where it will go.
My house was built before 1990. Does that matter?
For old tiles, sheet vinyl and black adhesive, yes. Asbestos Victoria says a material installed before 1990 is safest assumed to contain asbestos, and the Asbestos Safety and Eradication Agency's product guide says paint-on adhesives for attaching floor coverings to floorboards or slabs may also contain it, particularly if black. Have it tested before anything is ground or sanded.
Timing
How quickly can someone get to me?
We cannot promise a time. It depends on the provider's bookings. Form and phone enquiries are passed to a local provider, who contacts you directly.
Is winter a bad time to coat a floor in Bendigo?
Bendigo Airport's weather record shows cold nights: a July mean minimum of 2.7 °C (Bureau of Meteorology, read 6 October 2026). We cannot give a temperature limit for a coating, because no non-commercial source states one, so ask the contractor what limit their system has and what they do if the weather is outside it.
Permits and approvals
Do I need a building permit to coat a floor?
We have not read a Victorian source that answers this for a floor coating, so we do not say. Ask the contractor and the City of Greater Bendigo.
Source: No Victorian Government or City of Greater Bendigo page read on 6 October 2026 states a permit rule for a floor coating.
Service area
Which suburbs do you cover?
Bendigo and the rest of the City of Greater Bendigo, from Eaglehawk to Heathcote. Four suburb pages are each written around one flooding or drainage fact: Heathcote, Kangaroo Flat, Marong and Epsom. The other localities are covered on the same terms.
Do you coat floors yourselves?
No. A marketing company runs this site and passes each enquiry to an independent qualified local provider. The provider looks at the floor and quotes, and does any work itself; we have no crews or equipment.
